Byron Young will be the Rams' first player to wear No. 0
Byron Young has certainly made an impression in his first week with the Los Angeles Rams.
Young chose a unique jersey number when the club released the jersey numbers given to the 14 rookies selected in the 2023 draft class: No. 0.
This summer, the NFL changed its rules to allow players to wear No. 0, after a petition presented by the Eagles and accepted by NFL owners.
So Young is taking advantage of the chance, becoming the very first player of Rams history who has done so.
Steve Bagarus wore No. 00 with the Rams in 1947, but that is not the same as a single zero.
A Rams player has never worn it. In his debut year in the NFL, Young is attempting to carve out a niche for himself.
He originally wore No. 6, but it will now be worn by Tre'Vius Hodges-Tomlinson, who previously wore No. 6. It's unclear which number Kendrick will now choose.
