Brian Gutekunst Believes That Having Aaron Rodgers Agreement Off Our Cap Will Be Beneficial In 2024

The Packers paid Aaron Rodgers a large new deal last year, and

removing that amount off their salary limit was a factor in selling him this year.

Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst acknowledged that the $40.3 million dead cap compared to

trading Rodgers hits their books for the 2023 season puts them fairly close to the cap heading into the draft,

but Gutekunst believes the cap savings in 2024 will help the Packers sign free agents next year.

"It will certainly help us next year," Gutekunst said, according to ESPN's Rob Demovsky. "I'm excited to get through this part and have some assets for next year."
